If Microcock pulls it's finger out we should all have the ability to download movies this evening from the video marketplace. Personally I won't be able to download anything as I only have a 20gb hard drive, and like most gamers out there already have it reasonably full of Arcade games and additional content for full games. I only have about 3gb spare on my drive so even a SD movie may well not fit onto the remaining space.
Personally I am a little disappointed that the HD movies are about 5gb and the SD movies will probably come in at about 2.5/3gb, surely there is a way to compress the video into smaller files (DIVX springs to mind). It would seem that only people with the (hideously) overpriced 120gb drive or the Elite system will actually have the space to take advantage of the new service.
If anyone who has the space for movies on their hard drive actually does start to download movies, let us know how you get on and I wonder how long it will take to actually download a 5gb file, I suppose you may well have to plan your evenings movie viewing a whole day in advance. Hopefully we will also get the TV shows at some point which will be of a much smaller size, and a more practical "multi-media machine experience" for Launch machine owners!
Cheers

I got me an Elite, but i dunno how many pts i have... 400 springs to mind.
If i only have to pay 250 for a full length Film, i will be well chuffed and prob DL it as i sleep tonight. However playing about £2 for a film seems a sml amount.
OMFG!
Just had a rummage on the net and there is another list of movies coming sometime before mid January.... most of which I have seen recently on TV.....shocking.
Does anyone else think that these downloadable movies should be what is currently in the charts at Blockbuster, not what you would find in a 99p bargain bucket?
there is a range... some good, then Tom Cruise films....
"300" for 350 pts.... wow! and only 1.2 gigs! thats about £3!
